Did you try other pet foods before Purina ONE? What made you switch? Mary O. recently shared this story of her search for the right food after finding and rescuing a beautiful cat named Chopstix: "Unbeknownst to me, Chopstix had been roaming our neighborhood for over a year before I even saw him. Kind neighbors were feeding him but nobody took him in- perhaps because most of them already owned pets. The first time I saw him, he was looking into our bedroom from our deck; when I opened the door, he came right in, purring loudly. My husband and I both fell in love with this gentle kitty from that very first day. He was badly matted and hungry and had obviously been an indoor cat since he was declawed, and was probably a casualty of a foreclosure. He is the gentlest cat we have ever met, a Maine Coon/Ragdoll mix weighing only 9 lbs at that time. We tried a variety of foods on him, including Science Diet, Nine Lives, [Newman's Own], and many others. More often than not, he would turn up his nose at them, but when he did eat, something would cause him to vomit. He was vomiting daily at one point. We had x-rays and blood tests done and all showed he had no major issues. One of the vets suggested putting him on Purina One. When he dashed into the kitchen even before we opened the bag, I knew we had found the one. His weight increased to a more respectable 12-13 lbs., his coat is shiny and best of all, he still loves his Salmon and Tuna Purina One. Suffice it to say, we are tremendously grateful for this wonderful product that has brought the kitten out of our senior cat that we hope will stay healthy for a long time to come!" –Mary O.
